Boston United is pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Coughlan as the new first team manager of the club. Graham, who celebrated his 50th birthday on Monday, brings a wealth of managerial experience in the EFL from his time at Bristol Rovers, Mansfield Town, and Newport County, as well as a developmental role at Sheffield United.

After an extensive three-week recruitment process, the Pilgrims have selected the Irishman to take on the role of the club's new manager in their efforts to maintain the National League status achieved in May.

He will immediately take charge of first-team matters at the Jakemans Community Stadium, as preparations are underway for the upcoming match against Braintree Town on Saturday.

Coughlan previously served Southend United in various capacities, including as assistant manager and first-team coach, before assuming the position of permanent manager at Bristol Rovers in January 2019, following a successful interim period.

Following his tenure at Mansfield, he returned to first-team management at Newport in October 2022, after a period coaching the club's under-23s at Bramall Lane.

During his time at Newport, he successfully secured the club's EFL status in his first season in charge, and led the Exiles to the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup in the subsequent season, where they were eliminated by Manchester United at Rodney Parade. As a player, the Dubliner amassed over 500 appearances, with notable stints at Livingston, Plymouth Argyle, and Sheffield Wednesday, earning three promotions.
